WE ARE OUTSTANDING!!! ... in all areas!
‘I want to be 3 years old and come to this nursery’ says an OFSTED inspector as she presents St Vincent’s Nursery in Altrincham, Cheshire, with an ‘OUTSTANDING’ outcome during their routine OFSTED inspection on the 11th February 2020.
The OFTSED inspector described St Vincent’s Nursery and its out-of-school club, the Sunshine Club, as ‘rich, vibrant and wholly inclusive’ setting whilst referring to the staff who work there as having ‘excellent understanding of children’s needs’ as well as being ‘extremely passionate about providing the very best experiences for children to enjoy’.
Since the introduction of the new Early Years Inspection Framework in September 2019 and the changes that it has brought, achieving, and maintaining, an ‘Outstanding’ status has become increasingly hard as the expectations of early years settings are exceptionally high. Being recognised as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas for a second time in a row is something that St Vincent’s Nursery are incredibly proud of, especially as they are the only setting in Altrincham and the local community to achieve this outcome since the new framework came into place.
Ivana Beckett, Nursery and Sunshine Club Manager, said ‘Knowing that the OFSTED inspector recognised what I see across the nursery and Sunshine Club every single day fills me with indescribable pride. The whole team are truly deserving of this recognition for the sheer dedication, passion and hard work that they put into ensuring that they make a difference in the children’s lives. In today’s day and age, to be told that the way we support the emotional well-being and mental health of our children, families and staff team is ‘innovative and inspiring’, and our provision for children with additional needs is ‘magnificent’, gives me great reassurance that we are making a positive impact.’
