The provision for our Reception children falls under the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
The children have access to activities that not only falls in line with their learning in school and inspires their curiosity further, but also enables them to relax after a busy day in school, share a story with one another and continue strengthening friendships with their peers. Engaging in endless craft activities, letting off steam during outdoor games or learning new skills, the children can look forward to sessions filled with fun, excitement and new adventures.
Their experiences are captured in their own individual scrapbooks which they get to keep as a special reminder of their time at the Sunshine Club.
Taking overall responsibility for the daily running of the Reception year group is Kate Foxall as the Early Years Co-ordinator. Kate is supported by Serena Alexander and Lucy Hunter whose kind, caring personalities and ability to come up with some incredible creative activities to engage the children in make them an instant hit amongst the Reception group.
Kate, Lucy and Serena's collective passion for working with children and dedication to making each day fun shine through the relationships that they have both built with the children and the smiles on the children's faces as they leave each day say it all!
